What is Breathwork?

This is an active meditation process. You are able to reach a deep state through repetitive breathing. The breathe we use is called Dirga Pranayama in yogic practice. It is a 3 part breathe into the belly, into the chest, and then exhaling.

What happens at the Breathwork Circle?

We begin with introductions, discussing intentions, and tarot readings. Then we start the music for our 1 hour practice. We loosen up, do guided meditation, and then 30 minutes of active breathing laying on the floor. While you breathe, and with your consent, I will do subtle body work to assist energy moving. After the active breathing, we return to normal breath, and slowly get re-balanced with the body. We hold a breathe integration session before departing if anyone wants to share with the group.

How to prepare

• Have an empty stomach or eat lightly
• Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothes
• Option to avoid alcohol and mind altering substances for 24hrs before practice (Emphasizing a ritual cleanse)

What to bring

• Blindfold / eye pillow
• Water bottle
• Yoga mat
• Pillow or blanket (I try to remember extra)
• Oils, crystals, or items that speak to your spiritual path

Aftercare

For best results, take it easy afterward, eat nutritious food to break your fast, rest for the evening if needed. An Epsom salt bath is great for continuing to reset the nervous system.
